Membership of professional bodies: The Institute of Purchasing and Supply South Africa (IPSA), State Owned Enterprises Procurement Forum (SOEPF), and Purchasing Consortium Southern Africa (PURCO).

What is your vision for P & SM: Strategic sourcing should become indispensable to all organisations.

Personal best achievement: Establishing the Strategic Procurement Unit of the CSIR from a two-person IT Procurement office to what it is today.

Most important commodities: Everything you can think of that is needed in a multi-cultural, diverse organisation that does research and development in the Defense, Bio-science, Build, Natural Resources, Manufacturing, Laser Technology environments, etc.

The person that has had the biggest influence on your life: My family and more specifically my dad.

The person that has had the biggest influence on your career: Bets Visser, my Department Head when I started as a teacher in 1985 at Lydenburg Secondary School. Also Raynold Zondo, the Executive Director of Services at the CSIR that is my current manager.

Person you would most like to meet: The man who is going to marry my daughter…
