JOB OBJECTIVES
- Analysis of the relevant supply market and commodities to identify procurement opportunities in both price and application
- Development and implementation of commodity strategies which are aligned to business needs and which will ensure cost savings for the company
- Generation and interrogation of zero-based cost models from first principles
- Analysis of value chains and consumption patterns which will identify total cost of ownership
- Preparation /documentation/presentation of strategies to stakeholders
- Obtain regional support for strategies
- Setting up of collaborative forums with suppliers
- Negotiation of relevant contracts at supplier Board level
- Execution of strategies and delivering of savings
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Relevant 3 year degree/diploma [B Com, Eng Mechanical/Electrical]
- Having attended a Management Development Programme would be an advantage
- MBA/CFA qualification would be an advantage
EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years experience covering the following areas:
- Experience in procurement especially in developing commodity strategies
- Experience in Supply Chain
- Exposure to Mining processes
- Exposure to the financial or technical evaluation of projects
- Exposure to legal contracts and concepts
- Exposure to large scale contract management
