Unlocking SA’s multi-billion e-procurement market

SDandRSP.jpgSouth African supply chain consulting specialist Resolve SP has partnered with Irish software company SourceDogg to deliver effective e-sourcing.

The partnership will bring SourceDogg’s e-procurement solution to the South African market. The announcement was made during the Enterprise Ireland trade mission to South Africa led by Minister for Trade and Development, Joe Costello.

Resolve SP, a subsidiary of the Imperial Logistics Group, has identified a strong need for effective e-procurement among public and private organisations in South Africa where uncompetitive procurement practices, non-compliance and fraud are longstanding problems.

It was revealed by a special investigative team in 2011 that as much as R27-billion of the annual public procurement budget alone was lost to corruption, incompetence and negligence.

SourceDogg is a solution for clients who do not have large ERP capability, but need to apply procurement best practice. It allows like-for-like comparisons of quotations and tenders and quick identification of the best value, achieving sourcing transparency. Hosted in the cloud, SourceDogg saves large and small organisations money and time.

Resolve SP will provide value-added services around the tool such as assisting clients in managing the transition to e-sourcing; converting existing processes to SourceDogg; training, monitoring and auditing procurement quality; and analysing results and improvements.

“SourceDogg has been impressed with Resolve SP from the start. As part of the Imperial Group, Resolve SP have the expertise to ensure wide adoption of our software and the team to ensure that client companies successfully embed SourceDogg into their buying processes,” said Alan Phelan, CEO of SourceDogg.

“Resolve SP has found the SourceDogg application to be powerful yet simple in terms of quickly adding value to the sourcing process, and being a cloud-based solution it offers fast implementation and low technology requirements to get maximum benefits for procurement organisations,” added David Long, Director of Resolve Solution Partners.
