The Procurement of HR and Skills in the Spotlight
SmartProcurement, in conjunction with benchmarking specialist, Purchasing Index (PI), are facilitating a breakfast session during which you will get the opportunity to hear from and question, some of the leading HR Recruitment Agencies which operate locally and internationally.
Karen van Staden, a PI consultant, who identified the need for this 'HR Industry' feedback, told SmartProcurement that "there is not enough interaction between the buyers and the suppliers of our most fundamental national asset - our human resources. I think that this leads to frustrations based on a lack of understanding of exactly what goes on behind the scenes at the agencies on whom we rely to recruit and resource our requirements".
- The international shortage of skills and its direct impact on the South African market.
- The effect of the brain drain on the resources of South African organisations.
- The length and structure of the international recruitment process.
- What are recruitment costs in Dubai, the UK, Australia and Canada for head-hunting and contingency recruitment?
- Why do recruiters charge the fees they do, and what value does your organisation receive for these monies that you pay.
- The benefit of working on a 'retainer-basis' with recruiters who will use a head-hunting methodology at a discounted targeted approach.
- The need to build strong lasting relationships with recruiters.
- How to save money on your recruitment process without cutting corners and lowering the quality of skills and service.
- Just what are the benefits of sole agency agreements.
- And much, much more...
Van Staden optimistically concluded the following about the breakfast: "The headline in the Business Times Recruitment Section on the 29th of June 2008 pretty much sums it all up - 'Finding and keeping the talent are key to business success'".
