The new BEE Codes are out: the days of business-as-usual are long gone

Failing to understand how the revised Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Codes of Good Practice (BEE Codes) will affect procurement processes is a significant risk for any organisation’s strategy.

On 30 June 2015 the BEE Smart Symposium, hosted by Smart Procurement World, will unpack the new BEE Codes, analyse the economic intent and review the outcomes achieved thus far.

The symposium will also examine compliance options, thereby providing you with practical advice to help plan for the future.

• What are we likely to see now that the new BEE Codes have been implemented?

• How will the new Codes affect the BEE credentials of existing suppliers in the short and medium term?

• How will the new Codes drive the direction of supplier development efforts?

A multitude of questions have arisen after the clarification guidelines.

To obtain clarity for the procurement fraternity, Smart Procurement World has put together this one day symposium where key stakeholders will address the changes and provide direction.

Featured speakers include:

•  Brigitte Brun and Maxi-lee Machado authors of the new LexisNexis publication, The Practical Guide to the Amended B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice.
•  Paballo Vilakazi, Pre-Investment, National Empowerment Fund.
•  Moshisi Lehlongwane, Partnerships & Stakeholder Relations Manager, Massmart.
•  Babalwa Ngonyama, CEO, Black Business Council.
•  Chris van Wyk - Managing Director - Aqrate.
•  Murray Chabant - CEO - Signa Advisors.
Saul Symanowitz, Divisional Manager, Sage Pastel BEE123.
•  Olga Meshoe , Director, Transcend Corporate Advisors.
•  Deonne Kerr, CEO, Siyakha Consulting.
•  Portia Tau-Sekati, Property Sector Charter Council.
•  David Ndou, Chairperson, ABP [The Association of BEE Professionals]
