Superintendent Commercial - BHP Billiton, Aluminium Southern Africa

Minimum Qualifications :Appropriate B Degree / B-Tech / T4 National Higher Diploma
Minimum Experience: 5 years relevant commercial experience in an industrial environment
Special Skills Essential:
• Commercial experience
• Good negotiating and communication skills
• SAP/GSAP not critical but advantageous
Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage and promote health, safety, environment, quality and housekeeping parameters in section. Enforce adherence and compliance with all regulations and procedures and initiate corrective action where necessary
• Develop, implement and maintain policies, plans, procedures and systems for effective purchasing and contract management
• Effectively develop and manage the commercial team to deliver the Aluminium Sector Group’s targets regarding commercial initiatives
• Ensure that adequate customer focus is driven within the Aluminium assets to meet service availability and delivery needs
• Instill a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, customer focus and service delivery within the team towards our customers and service providers
• Develop automation control systems to optimise contract management and targets
• Management of interface with the logistic and warehouse functions as well as the buying function
