Sourcing Specialist: Mining and Resources (North West Province)
This company is one of the World’s largest primary precious metal producers which process the concentrate from three mines locally and deliver finished metal to the market. The last year has seen major transformation taking place with the goal of becoming a World Class mining company.
Apart from internal expansion, new alliances have been formed in an attempt to beneficiate in terms of job opportunities around the mines. Coupled with this, the company is striving toward operational excellence in areas such as safety, productivity and cost.
To this end, they are in search of Strategic Sourcing professionals who have gained world class experience and are capable of developing and implementing innovative procurement strategies to assist in attaining this goal. The strategies will contribute to and support the overall business plan and provide a focus for all actions and interfaces with third parties. A commodity management approach is being used to unlock value in all spend areas within the supply chain. Your innovative contribution to developing appropriate sourcing, tactics and services; developing supplier optimization strategies; continuously improving and optimizing commodities and services as well as managing the performance of suppliers will be aimed at reducing the Total Cost of Ownership, thus contributing to bottom line savings.
A B.Eng (Industrial) Degree with a business-related postgraduate qualification is preferable. (MBA; MDP; PGDM)
Finance Degrees may also be considered if the focus of prior experience has been in World Class Procurement.
