BEE Codes approved by cabinet - small suppliers excluded.
Cabinet has approved the codes of good practice on broad based black economic empowerment and they are expected to be gazetted early next year, according to the Department of Trade and Industry's deputy director general Lionel October.
October, speaking at a post-Cabinet briefing in Pretoria, said the final legal drafting process needed to be carried out in regards to the codes. But he did say that small and micro enterprises — below a turnover threshold of R5-million a year — would be exempted from black economic empowerment scorecards.
